Project Overview
A self-navigating ground robot equipped with an RPLidar A1 LiDAR sensor for 360° environment mapping, Raspberry Pi 4 for SLAM-based path planning, and an Arduino for low-level motor control. The rover autonomously navigates indoor environments while avoiding obstacles.
Autonomous navigation is a core robotics challenge. Students need a hands-on platform to understand SLAM, sensor fusion, and real-time control systems.
A two-wheeled differential drive rover with LiDAR for mapping, Raspberry Pi running ROS2 for navigation, and Arduino Mega for motor PWM control communicates via UART serial bridge.
