LoRa-Based Underground Pipeline Water Leak Detection with Hydrophones
Non-invasive acoustic cross-correlation sensors clamped on municipal water pipes calculating pressurized leak coordinates.
Project Overview
Prevents clean water waste in municipal distribution networks. High-sensitivity contact microphones listen to acoustic vibration hiss generated by pressurized water escaping pipe fractures, using cross-correlation between two adjacent nodes to locate leaks to within 1 meter.
